NEW YORK CITY BOOKS

In the coming weeks, we’ll update this page to include links to many of our favorite books about New York, from in-depth histories to page-turning novels.

For now, however, we’d like to highlight two titles:

1) Our Favorite Guidebook that we wrote:

Fast-paced and engaging, Frommer's 24 Great Walks in New York is the ideal book for those who want to see the city and learn its history at their own pace.

Walks include everything from the Financial District and the area near the World Trade Center to Harlem and out to Brooklyn Heights.

The books is being released in January 2008, but you can pre-order now.

2) Our Favorite Guidebook that we didn’t write:

Night + Day New York is a compact look at all the best things to see and do in the city. It begins with a section titled “99 Best of New York” and then goes on to details what’s “hot,” “cool,” “original,” and “classic” in the city. (Full disclosure: our walking tours are in the “cool” section). A fun and handy guidebook that covers a wide swath of the city in a portable 200 pages.

We will also review books occasionally review new books about New York. Those reviews will be posted on our blog.
